Die skoonheid van die môre en die gloed van die middaguur is goed, maar dit sou 'n dwaas wees wie die gordyne toe trek en dis lig aanskakel om die kalmte van die nag uit te sluit. Ouderdom het sy plesier, alhoewel anders, maar nie minder as die plesier van die jeug nie.

The complete life, the perfect pattern, includes old age as well as youth and maturity. The beauty of the morning and the radiance of noon are good, but it would be a very silly person who drew the curtains and turned on the light in order to shut out the tranquillity of the evening.
